I received my Barefoot Spa with a chip in the shell on the outside rail. They sent a guy out to fix it, but it still doesn’t look right. All he did was buff it out and paint over it with some kind of primer. While this is a minor complaint about my Barefoot Spa, I’m not at all happy with how it looks because it’s right on the side that faces my house, so every time I look out the window at the spa, I see the defect.

Barefoot Spas told me the repair was all they could cover under warranty because I waited to long to call in about it. The thing is I didn’t wait to call, I just didn’t see it at first. Apparently, had I noticed the damage right when they delivered, Barefoot would have swapped it out for a new one. Other than the chip in the shell, everything else is running pretty good and I’ve had the spa for about a year now. I guess it’s just my luck that the spa got damaged. Anyway, lesson learned, when you get a tub delivered, check for damages!

It took forever to get the chemicals right. I had really foamy water, and cloudy water for the first few weeks. I had major issues with figuring all of this out. I called the support line a few times, and they had some suggestions, but nothing worked. Then I went to the pool store to see if they could figure it out, and turns out they were even more clueless. They just sold me a bunch of crap that doesn’t work and made the water even cloudier. I finally read online that the foam is caused by detergent in clothes, so we stopped doing that and it helped the foam. Then, once I drained my tub all over again and started over with the fresh chemicals (only one kind) the water was more clear. Again, it took a really long time to figure this out, and I just wish I knew some of this stuff from the beginning. Hopefully this helps someone else with the same problems.
