I did a lot of local and online research before buying my Barefoot Spa

I did a lot of local and online research before buying my Barefoot Spa and making this big purchase. I live near Nashville Tennessee. The prices a the local “hot tub dealers” were $15,000 and up to get the ones we liked. There was even one in there for 23k! Really a hot tub? 23k?? Yep. Sure was. I would never spend that much on a hot tub. you know the rest part? The one we saw for 23k had fewer jets and smaller pumps. It also did not have the fountain jet feature my wife liked.

We bought the Barefoot spa we bought the P-Series PB8, it is fantastic! Better than the one we saw in the store and online. We paid half the price as then in the store. We are very happy we took our time and waited to find this deal.

Went over budget

We ordered a hot tub from Barefoot Spas 1/26, and got it delivered 3/9. No problems there. It was about what we expected as far as time. Electrician had a hard time hooking it up. I didn’t have a certified Electrician install the double 50A 240W GCFI box. It was my friend and thats pretty much what screwed it up. Wish I would’ve paid a professionals to start with. Ended up having a pretty hefty electrical bill. Plus the cost of the deck I built I went way over budget. Got a good deal on the special order hot tub though and so far its been great

Not what we expected

We love our Barefoot Spa. It has treated us well, and while the ENTIRE family doesn’t use it like they once did, my husband and I still enjoy it regularly. The only complaint we really have is that we were told we wouldn’t have to drain the water as much as we are currently. We are averaging twice a year, but my husband and I are convinced our sales rep said we would rarely have to drain it (like maybe once a year at most). That doesn’t really matter I guess because we’ve gotten used to it. Still it wasn’t something we expected. Another thing we didn’t expect was how easy the inside shell part is to clean when drained. It rarely gets dirt and grime stuck to it like our old one. Even while the water is in it, the shell stays very clean… not at all like the bath tub. This we have been very happy with, as we’ve heard horror stories about yucky stuff hanging out on hot tub surfaces. One of those stories came from our neighbor. They bought a cheap one they found online. Glad we didn’t go that route. Might just keep that bit to ourselves… hee hee…

Love the tub… It’s my first one, and it’s been great for my life. Never new hot tub could be used for pain therapy. Sure enough I DO have far less knee and joint pain.

Can’t wait to show the tub off to my new neighbors. I wanted one that plugs up to the regular outlet, but my salesman talked me in to getting this one with the 220v plug, and glad I did. A buddy of mine down the street bought a tub with the regular plug, and he’s had some problems. I’m usually a cheap skate, but sometimes it pays off to spend a little extra and get better quality. I haven’t rubbed that in at all to my friend down the street. He does know he can come over to my house and use a real hot tub any time he wants though … hee hee

So far so good with Barefoot Spas

So far so good with Barefoot Spas. Great deal and we enjoy it a lot. It looks great in the backyard setting. We had some initial pump/elec. problems, but they were solved through customer service and our electrician. Customer Service was very patient and helpful with responding right away. I couldn’t always get through and had to leave a message a few times with they’re service department. I remember this being a minor inconvenience at the time, but since my problems were eventually fixed free of charge, we decided to live with it.

Finally got the spa hooked back up after having it drained for over 2 months. Filled up, and right away, it fired up. No doubt Barefoot Spas makes a quality, rigid, and tough tub that has stood up to even my abuse and negligence for over 4 years. Yeah, I haven’t really taken good care of it since I’ve had it… but hey, at least I’m honest!!

The spa looks nice now but this is no way to get a new product delivered to your home. I admit I’m a bit of a clean freak, but we ended up cleaning the whole thing out just to make sure no one else put there hands or feet in it. We took the deal because it’s one they had there and a floor model discount helped save a lot of money, still would’ve rather paid extra to get one that wasn’t ruined with a foot print and dirt.

I bought my spa at the Collinsville spa show. very happy with the spa. The salesman was very helpful and knowledgeable. I paid about half price what other spas cost. I would recommend this company, and their products. The only drawback is the company is based out of Virginia. I live in Missouri. I do prefer to buy things local. However, I got a REALLY good deal on my PL8. Like I said, about half of the price compared to what I’ve seen. Also, I’ve called a couple times and they’ve been good at getting back to me. They tell me they have “service techs” in my area that would work on my tub if I ever needed it. That makes me feel pretty good. Still, wish I had a door to knock on if I needed one. At any rate, the risk reward was there for me because I got such a good deal. Hope it continues to pay off!

I loved the fact that I could get so much power in something so little. It has so much more power than my tub at my old apartment. I only have a small space to put the spa. Plus, I like the built in safety rails because my mom uses it sometimes, and she doesn’t want to drive to the YMCA to use the one there. We both don’t like chlorine. This barefoot spa doesn’t take much chlorine at all.

My salesman Maurice was very nice and very helpful. He got us the last little tub they had. Mine is called the Barefoot Spas PR5 they had at the show. He also came out to our house and measure the spot for me to make sure the spa would fit on my patio. Well, it did fit, and I’m so happy. That was very nice of him to go the extra mile for us. Thank you Maurice, and thank you Barefoot Spas!

Do not deal with these people
Barefoot Spas is one of the most unreliable companies ever. I ordered a hot tub from their factory, and they promised they would have it to me in 6-8 weeks. Every time I’ve ordered something like this, it never takes as long as they say it will. When I ordered my custom closet, they said 4-6 weeks, and it only took 3 weeks, so why did it take 8 weeks to get my hot tub?!!!

I was very disappointed with Barefoot Spas. I had a family reunion planned at my house, and used this as a deadline. I wanted to enjoy the hot tub with my entire family. It would’ve been a huge hit, I know it. We had almost 20 people here, and the spa would’ve gotten tons of use, but those plans fell short because the spa took 2 days before 8 weeks to get here!!!! I’m never doing business with Barefoot Spas again.

The worst part is, I called almost every week for an update, and every time they assured me, that the hot tub was right on schedule for the time they quoted. I can’t believe it actually took as long as they said. That never happens. The customer service is horrible. All I asked is for them to give me an update on my order. Cant they do this every day? I want an update every day on the progress. Did they give it to me?? No they did not! I invested a lot of money, and was very thorough, and called them I don’t know how many times, and still the spa showed up two days before the maximum time allowance! If you’re on a tight schedule (who isn’t these days?), then do not deal with these people! When I pay this kind of money for something, I expect it to be delivered well before the maximum time allowance at time of purchase!!!

But once we got there, we soon found out about the really good pricing they had and surprising quality of the Barefoot Spas they had there for sale. We shopped 3 different paces before we went in there and we weren’t really planning to buy. One thing we really liked was they figured out hot to do the delivery. The places said it would cost a lot of money $800 more on average to rent a crane. The best part is they got it done with no crane, and they did it for free! We also like how easy our Barefoot Spa is to clean.

The guy at the store denies telling me this of course. He says Barefoot Spas is 95% chemical free, but I know he said it because it’s the whole reason I spent all this money. No cool down seat as advertised

I bought this spa for my wife and I. It was hard to convince her to get one because she really doesn’t like hot water like I do. One of the selling features in our Barefoot Spas M series ML8, was the cool down seat. This is a seat on the side with no jets, and it sits up higher than the other seats. My wife is tiny. She’s 4’10″. I’m 6’4″… I know we’re not the same size. The salesman told us that even though my 13 year old son is taller than her, the cool down seat would still have her to where she wouldn’t over heat, and a good portion of her body would be “out of water”. This is not at all the case. The spa is DEEP! In the “cool down seat”, she is still barely able to keep her shoulders out the water. The other seats? Forget about it!

Thanks Barefoot Spas, now I get to hear an earful every time she uses the spa, and even when I use it! This is really something I wanted to avoid. I even bought her a hot tub booster seat, and she won’t use it. Now only I can use the hot tub, and not her. This doesn’t work out at my house. Stuck with a huge deep hot tub, when I could’ve gotten a smaller one that fit both our needs. Now I have to sneak out every time to use it so she doesn’t get jealous an nag at me. Thanks a lot Barefoot…

I don’t know what else they are trying to sell me, but since I purchased I’ve been getting spammed in my email to buy this or that, chemicals etc. My spa doesn’t even take chemicals! I tried removing myself from the email subscription several times, but I still get the emails. I tried calling an they claim they don’t know whats going on. I used to work for a marketing company and this is very unprofessional. I don’t have time for this. Again, the spa is great, but poor marketing completely changed my opinion of this company.

Cover flies off the hot tub beware!

We got the Barefoot Spas PL8 and it fits great in our backyard patio. However, a few things have happened with the spa itself. The first thing was the screw for the siding stripped almost immediately. I have never seen screws strip so easily. I had to remove the siding 5 or 6 times because I had some problems when I first got it because I filled it the wrong way and got an airlock in my pump.

Also, the cover flies off the hot tub like it has wings unless you strap it down. We have a strong wind come though from time to time. It does not say to lock the cover in the owner’s manual. (I read the whole thing), and I figured since the cover does have some weight to it that it wouldn’t take off in the air. Turns out I was wrong. I had no warning of this. A little heads up would’ve helped!

I am not happy with this product

My brother bought a spa from Barefoot Spas 6 months ago and told me all about it. I bought the 7 foot square hot tub with the LED lights at the bottom, and the cool down seat with the jets on it.

When I dealt with customer service, they were helpful, but I would not recommend Barefoot because I’m not happy with this product. I spent a lot of money and paid cash for my tub. They had to special order my hot tub, and I think that’s what caused the mix up. There was supposed to be a big lens at the bottom of the spa near where your feet go that houses 8 LED lights. They called me and told me they had to change the LED lighting for me and I get a free “upgrade” for whatever reason. I told them as long as the LED light is still at the bottom I’m fine with it, but when it was delivered, there were only 4 tiny LED lights at the bottom all spread out, and the rest were up top by the water level. I thought it wasn’t a real big deal when they delivered it, but the whole reason I like more lights at the bottom is I like how it lights up where your feet go at night, and you can actually see your feet. When I turn it on at night theres just not enough light on the bottom like my brothers hot tub.

The rest of the spa is great. I was Surprised by some other things like how comfy the lounge seat is, and I don’t float out of it like I did in my old one. It’s just the one thing I REALLY wanted was the big LED lights in the bottom, and they had to screw that up for me. I hate it when manufacturers change things and don’t tell you. I understand they are trying to make the product better and let it progress, but I ordered the spa the way I did for a reason, and now I am stuck with something I do not want and I can’t enjoy the way I wanted to.
