Good spa

I bought the barefoot spa for my girlfriend. She has problems with her back, and it really helps. I dealt with the barefoot spas customer service too and they are ok. One thing we like the most about the spa is the power it has behind the jets. This thing’s not messin around! I had an old used one yeas ago and its no competition to this one.

Amazing!

Barefoot Spas service and our hot tub has been amazing! We got referred to Barefoot Spas from friends of ours who were referred from their friends. I guess a great reputation goes a long way! They have been fantastic in taking care of us when we had a few small things we needed help with. The install delivery guys were really good too. My salesman Denny still calls to check in on us! Now that’s service!

We love using our Barefoot spa. We got a different hot tub cover for it because we like the way it lifts up with the handle bars for easier access. The new cover is flat out awesome! Much better match to the hot tub itself. I recommend barefoot spas to everyone. Well worth it, and worth the money!

No complaints about barefoot spas. My salesman Marko was very professional, and helped us a great deal with our new hot tub purchase. We also met his manager Ray and we got a deal we couldn’t pass up! We’ve had a therapy hot tub on our list for years. So happy we found Barefoot spas hot tub show. My husband and I are feeling much better. We use it almost every day.

The two men that delivered our hot tub (Junior and I forget the other man’s name) were also right on time and very nice and courteous. They moved the new spa from the trailer no problem and made it look easy. Thank you to everyone at Barefoot Spas!

Barefoot spa hot tub drain

Barefoot Spa owners now for years and years. We got another hot tub from them and it’s working pretty well. Everything has been good this time except there is no drain on the bottom like our old one. You have to take the whole cover off to get to the drain.. so what’s the purpose of the drain? That’s been a little frustrating. My husband had the idea of getting a submersible pump. The kind you buy that goes under water and you hook the hose up to it when its time to drain it. He says it will get all the water out and not leave any down there where you’re feet go like our old one. I think we will do that, and we will see how it works It’s just frustrating because when we bought it we thought it had a drain like our old barefoot spa that you pull out from the side. The power behind the Jets is fantastic however. Lots of bubbles lots of hot water. The power is definitely not lacking and was upgraded since our last one. Overall, we love the tub and it was an upgrade for us.

Overpriced

We got ripped off. We paid over 16 thousand dollars for our Barefoot Spa 77NP at the pool and spa supply store. We thought we were getting a great deal on it because our price was 5k below MSRP. Let me tell you this… My Dad went to a spa show blow out event at the fairgrounds and got THE SAME SPA for 5 thousand dollars LESS!! Couldn’t believe it. We tried returning ours to the store we bought it from with no luck. My husband laughed at me for trying. The salesman and store owner didn’t hesitate to laugh at me either! We have already owned the hot tub for 2 months, so I knew the chances of getting our money back were slim to none. We wont be able to sell it for anywhere close to what we bought it for, and its just a horrible situation. Our salesman Alex has been rude and unprofessional every time I reach him after the sale. I will never do business with Barefoot Spas ever again!!!

Barefoot Spas 77LP Review
Barefoot spa warranty not covered

We had our Barefoot spa for 3 years and no problems. We bought it in 2016. We lived up in the mountains and we moved since then. Reason we went with barefoot spa is we didnt have a lot of options living in the rural area. The spa show was at the armory. We got the barefoot spa there and delivered from there. When we moved here to Greensboro, we hired a hot tub mover to help us because we like it and didn’t want to buy another one. That went well, and we’re happy we decided to keep it. Only thing I recommend is to hire a professional for the electrical connections. This is something I thought I could do myself the second time, but I didn’t do it right which led to a short in the circuit board and blew a fuse. Barefoot spa customer service helped me diagnose the problem (which was me), so it was not covered under warranty. They did help me find the part I need, and show me how to put it in myself. That was pretty easy. I was upset at the time about it not being covered under barefoot spa warranty and that was my main complaint about barefoot spas, but I understand it was my fault so I can see why they did it that way. None the less, the customer service rep I talked to a few times was really helpful and he’s been really good at getting back to me with questions etc. In the end, we were without our spa hooked up for a little over a month… Wish I could go back in time and tell myself to spend the $250 on an electrician! Even though I understand what not to do, I’m still never doing that myself again especially if the spa isn’t covered under warranty unless you have proof of professional install.

Positive Barefoot Spas Review

The reason I’m writing this Barefoot Spas Review is positive. I am the original owner of a Barefoot Spas 6 seater spa I bought in 1998. I don’t know the exact model number, but it looks like the 88LP as far as I can tell from the website. It is electric heated, and it has three jet powerful jet pumps. I had to replace the filter regularly, and the cover three times. The only other issue I’ve had is with the keypad getting faded. THat is my only complaint, but these are all minor repairs in my opinion. I mean hey, 23 years and thats it?? I am very satisfied with the quality of my Barefoot Spa, and the service I have received for almost 25 years!

Barefoot Spas Customer Service

The Barefoot Spas customer service was sub standard for us at first, but just recently, we’ve changed our opinion. This is the reason I am writing this review. The delivery of my new hot tub was delayed several days due to a broken down truck. We COMPLETELY understand things like this happen, we just expected updates on the shipment which we never got. It wasn’t until the day before delivery I got a call to schedule the time for the delivery guy to come out to the house with the spa. This is the part we were not impressed with, but since then the service has been good. They are prompt in returning my calls or messages I submit on their website; sometimes immediately. This is our first hot tub so we’ve had a lot of questions regarding set up and maintenance. I spoke with a girl named Joan who works at the barefoot spas factory. She has been very helpful and patient.

Barefoot Spas 77LB Review
Upgraded plug and play to 220v

Our Barefoot Spa has added a lot of value to our home and the outdoor space of our rental property. We do rent A LOT through AIRbnb. We’ve been able to increase rates across the board by featuring the spa on our listings with the LED lights going at night. I will upload picture.

My only issue was with the power connection. We bought the Barefoot 77LB because it was advertised at plug and play. Meaning we could hook it up like our old one with a regular plug and outlet. That is how we had it running at first, but that turned out to be inadequate for our guests. The complaint was, the water was nice and hot at first, but when you turn on the jets at full speed the heater cuts off, and the water cools down pretty fast. Kind of defeats the purpose of a HOT tub!

Our rental property is in the mountains and it gets quite cold. Long story short, we ended up upgrading the connection to 220v. Normally not an issue, but there wasn’t enough power in the breaker box for that (very old house/cabin), so we had to upgrade the service. This was an unexpected cost of $1,800!

After reading online, a lot of people have had the same problem with plug and play hot tubs. Expert articles I read also said even if the spa is plug and play to make sure it is “convertible” to 220v. Luckily our Barefoot Spa is convertible, so thats what we did, but we wish we would’ve known this going in so we could budget accordingly. Now that its set up right, our guests love it!

Used Barefoot Spa is… ok

Our experience with the salesperson at the store was not good, but the barefoot spa itself is ok, and we are happy with it. I still remember to this day. VERY RUDE TO MY WIFE! It was a used spa when we bought it last year. It is a 2012 model.

We got a really good deal, and again we love it. Thing is we’ve had a few unexpected challenges. Had to replace the pump motor because the store only did a 90 day warranty. It crapped out after about 11 months of ownership. Got the new pump put in yesterday and we are back up and running. Over all cost: $550. I work in wholesale and wish I had a connect in hot tub parts like with a manufacturer or supplier, but couldnt find a deal. Plus, I had to pay the store where I bought it to put it in. Wasn’t happy about that to say the least.

We replaced a Barefoot Spa with another Barefoot. We had the original one for 13 years, and we loved it, but it was starting to get a little outdated and the motor went out. We weren’t even really planning on going Barefoot spa again, but we were in the market and they had this expo show thing at the convention center and we just happened to find another Barefoot we really like in the 88NP model. This was major upgrade form the one we had (not sure of the model name). The foot massage is fantastic. My husband loves the jets that hit his shoulders. He has neck/shoulder problems. He loves it, and I love it too.

It heats up and cools down pretty quick which is great in case I need to cool it down a bit for the kids. You can change it so it’s not too hot for the kiddos. The hubby loves that we can get off from work and come home to a relaxing tub. He likes the lay down seat lounge. My favorite is the seat that massages on top my shoulders. Barefoot makes a great tub. So much better than the one my sister has because its much older than ours.

We got a Plug & Play Barefoot Spa. We have it set up in our sun room. It’s a 110 plug-in and doesn’t have to be hardwired in to the wall. It has a good number of jets. 20 something I think. Everything was fine, but we had some minor problems with the in home delivery. They damaged the cover box during transit to our home. They put the cover on the truck wrong with the straps, and the wind on the truck made the straps damage the cardboard. They told me there’s nothing they can do about the damage to the box. The cover itself didn’t have much damage, but we are worried it might have done something to the foam side the cover. I hope this doesn’t create problems in the future. We had a washer dryer unit delivered once where the packaging was damaged and later the dryer stopped working. Again, I hope this doesn’t happen to our hot tub. It was the delivery people who were at fault though, and not Barefoot Spas. The spa has been great. Feels so good to have relaxation in water back in our lives. We’ve just got our fingers crossed about this cover thing.

The Barefoot Spa we have is called the ML7. We love it. We placed the order for the spa and they said 6-8 weeks for the spa to get here to our home. It took almost exactly 6 weeks, so that was nice! I was kind of expecting it to take longer because I know how ordering stuff can be; it always seems to take longer than they say. Thats how it was with our living room furniture. Not with Barefoot Spas! They were right on the money! They are also spot on with quality of the tubs. We love our Barefoot ML7. Its not the nicest kind they make, but it is still really nice, and perfect for what we need. Therapy in hot water was recommended by my doctor, so this thing has been a huge help for my back pain and swelling.

Barefoot Spas SS12 Review
Swim Spa
My Barefoot Swim Spa review is intended to help other people considering Barefoot Spas for their swim spas and customer service. We bought our swim spa in Hartford at an expo show. The two men we spoke to at the show were very helpful and professional. The took a lot of time picking out the one we want, and when it was all said and done, my husband and I walked away happy and grateful we found Barefoot Spas SS12 because it is the one we always wanted.

Delivery and installation was easy. They put the swim spa exactly where we wanted it. This was a big plus for us because the one we looked at online, they only drop it off on your driveway. Actually, they don’t even do that. They were going to make us rent a forklift to remove it from a truck. My husband is not confident enough on a forklift to do this, plus, what happens after that? I watch the three guys they sent to deliver the spa, and I’m not sure it is something we would’ve been able to do ourselves. While they definitely knew what they were doing, it also didn’t look easy. All I did was told them where we wanted it, direct, etc, and poorer them all lemonade as a thank you.

We now have the spa hooked up and filled. Our electrician was happy with the connections, we were happy he was happy 🙂

I’ve completed three vigorous workouts now. Trying to take it easy because I’m pretty sour from the first two. I didn’t think I would like the rowing machine attachments, but once I tried it with water in the spa, I really like it. My husband hasn’t used the spa for exercise yet. He is recovering from shoulder surgery. He enjoys the relaxation part very much though. He says his shoulder is feeling better from the water therapy in the three massage zones on the other end.

We are giving Barefoot Spas 4 stars to start. I have no reason to give a bad Barefoot Spas review at this point, but I want to check back in later once we’ve had the spa hooked up and running for some time. (It’s only been 10 days). Will check back in after a few months. Long story short though, as it stands now, we both recommend Barefoot Swim Spas, and we are happy we made the investment and went with a reputable brand instead of the one we saw online!
